Ganpatipule is one of the" Ashta Dwar Devatas" of the subcontinent. In ancient literature like Mudgal - puran , this temple is being referred as “Paschim Dwar- Devata “.
History :
There was a Brahmin by the name Balbhatji Bhidewho who was facing personal problems and to overcome those problems he stayed in Kevda Jungle and gave up on food and water till being relieved of the personal calamity. During these he had visions of Lord Ganesha who told Bhide that “I have come to Aagargule (Ganesh Gule) to grant the wishes of my devotees. You worship me here and you will be relieved of all your difficulties.”
At the same time, one of his cows was not giving milk so he was keeping a close watch on the cow, he was surprised to see that the cow’s milk was flowing at a particular place,when he clean these area the idol of Lord Ganesha was found

The town is easily accessible from the port city of Ratnagiri, which also has a railway station and an airport.
By Rail
The nearest railway stations are at Ratnagiri and Bhoke. All the express, passenger trains stop at Ratnagiri, being a city. Bhoke is a small village and only passenger trains will stop there.
